Wowza. We're so lucky to find this modernist glass piece by Eva Lisa (Pipsan) Saarinen Swanson. Designed by Swanson and manufactured by the US Glass Company in 1948-50. This large, biomorphic flower floater has 4 candle holders and would make a gorgeous centerpiece.
"The flower floater design is part of museum collections such as Cooper Hewitt, Brooklyn Museum, Dallas Museum of Art and Cranbrook Museum." (1Dibs)
"This beautiful organic form, typical of the immediate postwar period, is a rare design by an important American designer." (Wright)
Condition: Good vintage condition. Glass does have scratches on base consistent with age & use. There are some marks & a tiny pinpoint-sized chip in the glass, as shown in photos. Some slight chipping on the rim, but not noticeable.
Approx. Measurements:
- 14.5" x 9" x 1.5"
